Josh Babarinde, OBE

Josh is a community campaigner, social entrepreneur and former youth justice worker from Eastbourne. Josh founded Cracked It, London’s social enterprise smartphone repair service, staffed by young ex-offenders. Cracked It was named UK Social Enterprise of the Year by the Centre for Social Justice (2018) and the Evening Standard (2019).
In 2020 – when he was 26 – the Queen awarded Josh an OBE for services to criminal justice, social enterprise and the economy. Josh was elected to Eastbourne Borough Council in May 2021, becoming the Council’s first councillor of Black heritage. He has also since been actively involved in his community, working as the head of entrepreneurship delivery at the School for Social Entrepreneurs, supporting hundreds of innovative changemakers across the globe to start and grow businesses that will empower communities – and change the world!
