00:01
Our church is really small.
00:03
We're a house fellowship.
00:04
Our focus, in terms of
encouraging people to share Jesus,
00:07
is really by praying for
one another, and I would say
00:10
recently, we've got an
increased burden for that.
00:12
To be actually praying for
each other where we are,
00:14
in the context that God is giving us.
00:17
So we focus on real life,
but we want to do that
00:19
with the intention of sharing the gospel.
00:21
We don't do programmes for evangelism,
00:23
but we wanna bring
people into relationship
00:26
with the group, where possible,
00:27
but we also want to resource
the individuals in the group
00:29
to be where they are,
00:31
in work, in their neighbourhoods
and family, sharing Christ.
00:34
I wish I could say that prayer
was absolutely foundational
00:37
to our outreach, but it should be,
00:40
and I think we've been
learning that more recently.
00:43
I'm trying to learn that it
shouldn't be about me saying,
00:45
"Lord, look here's what I'm doing,
00:47
"and please bless it and use it."
00:49
But I want to be saying,
00:50
"Lord, what are you doing
and how can I follow that?"
00:52
Because I think the Lord is
at work in people's lives,
00:55
and when we encounter them,
00:56
we realise he's already
been speaking to them,
00:59
and it's being sensitive to
how his Spirit is leading us
01:01
to say, how do we speak into
what he's already doing.
01:04
So prayer for me is about
seeking God's heart,
01:08
both in terms of how we see other people,
01:10
to see them as he sees them,
with compassion and with love,
01:13
but also then, to have the
sensitivity to his leading
01:16
to know how do we be
his voice, and speak in,
01:20
and be his instruments in their lives.
