There is no doubt the world is in a state of disarray, pain and uncertainty. Every manmade system is starting to wobble – political, financial, social, relational, moral, name it. And statistics don’t lie: people in the world are far more unhappy than they have ever been. Suicide, depression, family break-ups, loneliness, poverty, homelessness, fear and insecurity are on the rise, and people are desperately looking to find true peace in a world that has nothing secure to offer.
That is where we, the people of God, step in. What you and I have is the real deal, the real ‘good news’, and the only life-transforming message of peace and hope, because it is only the Prince of peace Himself who can offer people the ultimate peace they are looking for. Therefore, we must be bold in stepping into the opportunities the Holy Spirit will start to present to us in these days – and they are going to be far more frequent than ever before.
Whether it is a simple conversation about the faith we have, an offer of prayer we might make, an act of kindness we might show, or an invitation to a Christian gathering we might initiate, God is able to take all those seeds we sow, and bring a great harvest of them, because He is the Lord of the harvest. From our part, we must make use of every opportunity we get – in love, humility, compassion, grace and faith – and trust the Lord to do the rest.
Once people are at peace with God, they will be at peace with themselves, and in turn be at peace with those around. This Christmas, in the midst of all the pain and heartache around, let us introduce people to the only Prince of peace.

Does ‘na ddim dwywaith nad ydy’r byd mewn stad o gythrwfl, poen ac ansicrwydd. Mae pob system ddynol yn dechrau simsanu — yn wleidyddol, ariannol, cymdeithasol, perthynol, moesol — enwch unrhyw un. A dydy ystadegau ddim yn dweud celwydd — mae pobl yn y byd sydd ohoni yn llawer mwy anhapus nag a fuon nhw erioed. Mae Hunanladdiad, Iselder, Tor-priodas, Unigrwydd, Tlodi, Digartrefedd, Ofn ac Ansicrwydd ar gynnydd, ac mae pobl yn despret yn ceisio canfod rhyw fath o heddwch, a hynny mewn byd nad oes ganddi unrhyw beth sicr i’w gynnig.
Dyna le medrwn ni, pobl DDUW, gamu i’r adwy. Yr hyn sydd ganddoch chi a fi ydy’r ateb sicr, y ‘newyddion da’ go iawn, a’r unig neges chwyldroadol o heddwch a gobaith, gan mai dim ond Tywysog Tangnefedd Ei hun a all gynnig yr heddwch eithaf y mae pobl yn chwilio amdano. Felly, mae’n rhaid inni fod yn fentrus a chamu’n hyderus wrth i’r cyfleoedd y bydd yr Ysbryd Glân yn cyflwyno inni ddechrau ymddangos — ac maen nhw am fod yn llawer mwy niferus nag erioed o’r blaen.
P’un ai sgwrs fach anffurfiol am ein ffydd, cynnig i weddïo dros eraill, gweithred o garedigrwydd ar ein rhan, neu wahoddiad i ddigwyddiad Cristnogol — gall Duw gymryd yr holl hadau hynny a heuwyd ganddon ni, a chynhyrchu cynhaeaf mawr ohonyn nhw, gan mai FE ydy Arglwydd y Cynhaeaf. O’n rhan ni, mae’n rhaid inni wneud yn fawr o bob cyfle ddaw inni — mewn cariad, gostyngeiddrwydd, tosturi, gras a ffydd — ac ymddiried yn yr Arglwydd i wneud y gweddill.
Unwaith y bydd pobl yn profi tangnefedd yn Nuw, fe fydden nhw’n profi heddwch mewnol a thrwy hynny, heddwch ymysg ei gilydd. Y Nadolig hwn, yng nghanol yr holl boen a thorcalon o’n cwmpas, dewch inni gyflwyno pobl i’r unig Dywysog Heddwch.
