On 7 May, voters in Scotland will have the opportunity to vote for the 129 MSPs who will represent you in the Scottish Parliament and who will form the Scottish Government.

As you pray, consider, engage and vote in the election, we will be updating this page to help you do so.

To vote in Scottish Parliament elections, you must be 16 years old, be a British or Irish citizen, or a foreign national of another country who is permitted to enter or stay in the UK. If you are a student living in Scotland away from your home elsewhere in the UK, you may therefore be able to vote in your term-time address in the Scottish Parliament elections.

Do check the Electoral Commission’s guidance for further information. You do not need Voter ID for Scottish Parliament elections.
