Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail, they are new every morning great is your faithfulness” — Lamentations 3:22 – 23

Most of us find change a challenge, yet it happens to all of us all the time. At the moment we are very conscious of the changes that are taking place in our lives and in wider society and some of us are finding this an anxious and worrying time.

“Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”
John 4:35

Lord, we thank you for the power of the gospel. We thank you for the good news of salvation, forgiveness, hope and a new start.

We give thanks for all those who have encountered you during lockdown, those who met you for the first time and others whose faiths have been reignited.

Lord, grant us boldness, grace and love. Enable us to be examples of your good news and help us to point others to Jesus the light of the world.

As we move into a new season may many more discover your love for them for the first time.
Come Holy Spirit we pray.

In Jesus’ name
Amen

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path.”
Psalm 119:105

Jesus, light of the world, we pray for leaders of churches many of whom are tired, weary and unsure.

The demands are high and the challenges are many as leaders seek to make sense of what you are calling them to.

We ask that they might receive wisdom and revelation from your Holy Spirit.

May your word give them illumination and prophetic insight, energy, patience and faith.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27

This time of lockdown and the gradual move away from it has affected many people. Some are struggling with depression and isolation; others have lost loved ones and are feeling the deep wounds of grief and sorrow.

Lord, today we pray for those whose hearts scream out in hurt. Those whose spirits are bruised and broken. People whose faces are constantly washed with the tears of sadness, we call to you Lord, send your peace.

For those who are hurting and confused. Those who are battling with mental health issues. Families who are stretched to breaking point as they support a member in utter despair.

Lord might your peace sustain, strengthen and protect. Lord who experienced hurt and sorrow, be near to those who cry out in anguish.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Lord, this is a time of huge change
We are going through a massive transition and it is not easy
Many of us face anxiety, fear and doubt about the future
Thank you Lord that your compassion never fails

We pray for those who have become unemployed
Others whose jobs are uncertain
May they know your faithfulness today

We pray for children going back to school
And for those wondering about career choices
May they know your faithfulness today

We pray for the vulnerable and the marginalised
Unsure of the support that may be available
May they know your faithfulness today

For politicians and national leaders
As they seek to find a way forward
May they know your faithfulness today

For church leaders
As they seek to discern your will and offer hope and vision
May they know your faithfulness today

Thank you Lord that while everything changes your love remains constant.
We trust in your faithful compassion
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
