UPDATE 1 April 2022

Following leaks that the government were planning to not bring forward legislation to ban conversion therapy, they changed their minds again, and now suggest that they will bring forward plans but only relating to sexual orientation and not transgender identity. Earlier in the year we wrote to the Prime Minister warning that a badly focused and worded policy could pose a significant threat to religious liberty and personal freedoms. We are encourage that the government’s intent appears to seek to protect religious freedom, but we are concerned that the plans lack clarity and in the confusion a clear threat to the freedom of churches and individual Christians remains.
